YOUR CONCERN, IN CONTEXT

Lines & wrinkles

A line that appears with movement is not the same question as a crease visible at rest. A consultation should explain the contribution of muscle activity, skin changes and structural support.

Understand the concern

Separate movement from structure

Wrinkle relaxers target selected muscle activity. Fillers add volume or support. Surface-renewal procedures act on the skin. The same visible line can involve more than one factor.

Keep the goal specific

Ask which facial area will be treated, how movement may change and what will remain. Evidence for one formulation in frown lines does not establish the same effect in every facial area or for every product.

Think about maintenance

Discuss how long effects may last, when the result will be checked and the risks of the exact plan. A smaller dose or earlier start is not a guarantee of preventing future ageing.

Take these questions

Your consultation checklist

Start a conversation about the exact concern, product and plan.

Use relevant checklist questions
  1. What improvement is realistic for me and what are the alternatives?
  2. What product or device will you use and does its intended use cover this treatment in this country?
  3. What are the risks, recovery time and plan if something goes wrong?
  4. What is its status here and is this treatment area and method within its authorized or intended use?
