TRENDS, WITH PERSPECTIVE

The skin-quality conversation.

“Skin quality” is a way of talking about several features of skin, rather than the name of one procedure.

Start with a specific concern

Texture, uneven tone, fine lines and loss of firmness may require different approaches. An attractive umbrella term does not tell you which treatment you need.

Why the conversation matters

ASPS has described growing consumer interest in resurfacing and skin quality, alongside confusion about the many available technologies. Peels, light-based procedures and microneedling have different roles.

Our perspective

Turn a broad goal such as “better skin” into something observable: which feature do you want to change, how will improvement be assessed and what recovery is acceptable to you?

Take this to your consultation

“Which specific aspect of my skin are we treating and how will we judge whether it worked?”
