Cryolipolysis / fat freezing
Cryolipolysis, commonly called fat freezing, uses controlled cooling to affect localized subcutaneous fat. It is a non-invasive body-contouring approach rather than liposuction or a weight-loss treatment.
Compare recovery and timingWhat treatment changes
Changes develop over time after treatment. The exact device, applicator and intended body area matter. Fat reduction does not automatically correct loose skin, cellulite or a medical cause of abdominal fullness.
Cooling-related risks
Pain, bruising, numbness and skin injury can occur. Paradoxical adipose hyperplasia means the treated fat enlarges instead of shrinking and may require surgery. Discuss conditions that make cold exposure unsuitable and the complication plan.
Device and country scope
Regulatory status belongs to a device and intended use, not every treatment called fat freezing. Ask about the planned area, expected change, follow-up and alternatives. US FDA guidance does not establish authorization in another country.
