YOUR CONCERN, IN CONTEXT

Body shape & localised fat

“Body sculpting” can describe very different procedures. A useful consultation identifies the tissue and goal before comparing cold, heat, injections or surgery.

Understand the concern

Identify the target

A localised fat bulge, loose skin and the appearance of cellulite do not have the same explanation. Ask what the proposed procedure is intended to change and how that change will be measured.

Keep the methods separate

Cryolipolysis is a cooling-based device procedure. Lipolytic injections and liposuction use different routes and have different regulatory and recovery considerations. The authorised treatment area matters.

Plan for uncertainty

Results may be limited or temporary and some complications need further treatment. Fat freezing can rarely produce an enlarged firm bulge rather than a reduction. Ask about follow-up, the full course and a complication plan.

Explore the options

These guides explain approaches that may come up in a consultation. They do not establish which treatment is suitable for you.

Take these questions

Your consultation checklist

Start a conversation about the exact concern, product and plan.

Use relevant checklist questions
  1. What improvement is realistic for me and what are the alternatives?
  2. What are the risks, recovery time and plan if something goes wrong?
  3. What will the full course, aftercare and maintenance cost?
  4. What symptoms need urgent care and whom can I contact after hours?

Read the original sources
