Texture & acne scars
Texture is a broad description. Acne scars vary in shape and depth, so a useful plan starts with an assessment of the scars rather than a single treatment label.
Understand the concern
Describe what you see
Flat colour changes, depressed scars and raised scars raise different questions. Ask which features a treatment can reasonably change and which may remain. A smoother appearance is not the same as removing every scar. Treating active acne and treating the scars it leaves are different discussions.
Understand the treatment target
Microneedling, resurfacing and selected peel techniques use different forms of controlled injury. Ordinary microneedling and RF microneedling are distinct procedures. Evidence for one should not be assumed to cover the other.
Ask about timing and recovery
Active acne, previous treatments, medicines and your tendency to develop pigment changes may affect planning. Ask about the number of sessions, aftercare and when it is fair to assess the result.
Your consultation checklist
Start a conversation about the exact concern, product and plan.
Use relevant checklist questions- What improvement is realistic for me and what are the alternatives?
- What training do you have, including experience with my skin tone?
- What are the risks, recovery time and plan if something goes wrong?
- Which device and applicator are planned and why are they suitable for my skin and treatment area?
